WHAT ARE ANTS AND WARTS AND WHAT CAUSES THEM?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Warts and warts are infections caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). The HPV virus is transmitted by direct skin or mucous membrane contact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are many types of HPV, some of which can cause benign skin conditions (warts) or mucous membrane (genital, anus, mouth, pharynx) conditions and are usually transmitted through sexual contact. Warts are the most common sexually transmitted disease worldwide<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HOW ARE THEY TREATED?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  1. Cryotherapy (liquid nitrogen)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. CO2 Laser<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Topical medicated creams or solutions<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    CAN WARTS DEVELOP INTO MALIGNANT LESIONS?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Yes, some types of HPV can lead to malignancy. The most common oncogenic types of the virus are strains 16 and 18. The majority of cervical cancers are caused by HPV infection.The Pap test remains the main screening test for cervical cancer, and if necessary, further HPV DNA testing is done to find the type that has caused the lesions. HPV vaccines are now available in Greece and are currently indicated for pre-adolescent girls before the start of sexual life.<\/em><\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n
