What is it;
They are gram-shaped atrophic lesions that are red in color initially when they appear and white in the end when they are now established. They appear more often in women during adolescence and pregnancy and, in addition to heredity, are due to the sudden increase in height, weight and volume. They may also be seen after long-term oral cortisone treatment as well as in Cushing’s syndrome.
They are usually symmetrical and most often appear on the abdomen, inner thighs, buttocks, loin (waist), breasts and armpits. In the early stages when they are red their treatment is 100% effective while things are more difficult for the white ones which are irreversible and the aim of treatment in this case is to make them as less visible as possible.
