IMPLANTS

The term “baby skin” includes the whole body. That is, both the face and the trunk, the back, the upper and lower limbs. The need to obtain it increases even more during the summer months when we expose our body to a greater extent.

By “babyskin” skin we mean a skin without:

  • Unnecessary hair growth, i.e. fluff or hair on the face, or on the rest of the body (neck, armpits, chest, abdomen, back, arms, bikini and legs). Especially in women. Of course, in recent decades, “unwanted” hair growth has “knocked on the door” for men as well (unwanted hair growth on the back, chest, etc.).
  • Wrinkles mainly those concerning the face such as the forehead, the eyes (crow’s feet), the nasolabial folds (the lines that extend from the tip of the nose to the tip of the mouth on each side), the upper lip (smoker’s wrinkles), the corners of the mouth (depression wrinkles), etc.
  • That is, “stains” from some olives, from the light-colored to the darkest spots on the face and the rest of the body, from vascular lesions (from hemangiomas to varicose veins) which, depending on their size, depth, number and of course their anatomical location, may cause a corresponding aesthetic problem.
  • Without extra pounds and imperfections (cellulitis, sagging, etc.) which constitutes a well-maintained body

In this article we will deal with implants. Substances that add volume belong to this category. As we grow older, the atrophy of muscles and fatty tissue increases resulting in the loss of volume in specific anatomical areas of the face and body. Previously the trend was surgical removal.

Today, however, this has changed and now volume augmentation is the treatment of choice. Implants are divided into permanent, semi-permanent and absorbable. The implants with the fewest and, of course, if there are any reversible complications, are hyaluronic acid and autologous fat transplantation.

Autologous fat transplantation consists of the transfer of fat from one anatomical area of the body to another, in the same patient of course. Hyaluronic acid is a clear, non-animal-derived crystalline gel that is a major component of the skin.

It is a biodegradable material and is eliminated from the body after a period of time that is proportional to the quality of the implant.
It usually lasts up to fifteen months but, as the sessions are repeated, its duration increases.

Classic injection sites are:

  • Forehead wrinkles
  • Mid-frow wrinkles
  • Zygomatics
  • Nasobuccal grooves
  • Wrinkles of bitterness
  • Puppet Lines
  • Peroral wrinkles
  • Lip contouring and volume enhancement.

On the face it is now used in any anatomical area with the aim of changing its shape as well as the overall shape of the face, such as the chin, lower jaw and nose. In fact, the implantation of hyaluronic acid in the nose takes fifteen minutes, it is painless and the result is immediately visible.

The shape, the lines and the ratio of the dimensions of the nose are impressively corrected as if a rhinoplasty had been done without a scalpel and at a much lower cost. In the body, hyaluronic acid is used in order to “fill” large surfaces such as the buttocks in order to achieve their lifting, in the chest to lift and increase it, in the calves to improve their shape, in the hands and especially on the dorsal surface of the palms so that the hand looks younger.

The same goes for the neck. It is even used to increase the size of the penis as well as in the adolescent woman to improve its shape. It is also used to ‘correct’ postoperative scars and ‘dimples’ that may occur after liposuction.

In hyaluronic acid implants, I differentiate myself by the fact that I apply a cannula technique with which the rate of ecchymosis and swelling after implantation is dramatically reduced. In hyaluronic acid implants, I differentiate myself by the fact that I apply a cannula technique with which the rate of ecchymosis and swelling after implantation is dramatically reduced. As far as I know, this technique is officially (with certificates i.e.) owned by a plastic surgeon and me.!

I use the leading companies in the field and the results are safe, without side effects according to the international literature, and last the time expected by the company.

What the patient should know is that:

  • The result is not PERMANENT!!
  • The duration of the result is PROPORTIONAL to the quality of the implant and even more importantly the technique of the doctor.
  • The most common side effects are swelling, ecchymoses and much less often hyperpigmentation and granulomas.
  • The most serious danger is when these operations are done by untrained hands.

As far as patient benefits are concerned, when it comes to medical reasons it is clear. Cosmetic surgery for me personally is a form of psychotherapy. Therefore, in both cases, their health, quality of life, self-confidence and self-esteem improve.

They de-stress.., they calm down. They find their lost smile again. For the maintenance of the result in the implants depending on the product, the patient needs to come every 8-15 months.

As the session is repeated, this interval increases and after 4-5 sessions the result is almost permanent.

Non-invasive cosmetic procedures are becoming more and more popular because they are faster, less painful, with a very low degree of risk and number of complications than plastic surgery and of course because of their lower cost, especially in a period plagued by the international financial crisis.
